This image here is one of the designs that I did for the Forest of Signs Project during my sophomore year.
-
The purpose of this project was to pick an object that stands out to me and give it some elements of what this object's main purpose is. The object that I picked was a digital camera.
-
The picture above is supposed to show a camera capturing light. I put the image of a camera in an orange circle and made some lines and the sentence "Capturing Light '' pointing at the orange dot in the center of the camera lens.
-
Then I gave the line and the sentence a new character style to make them look like they are being sucked into the camera.
-
This image works because the camera does look like it is sucking in light. What I have learned from this is learning about the important aspects that go along with the purpose of a camera.
-
This design here is a portrait that I did for the Vector Portrait Project in my Adobe Creative Cloud class during my junior year.
-
The purpose of this project was to create a black and white version of a portrait of our choosing.
-
The one that I did above was a portrait of the main character of the TV show “House.”
-
I had to trace this image in Illustrator using the brush tool, the pen tool, and the shape tool.
-
This works as a vector because the black lines that I traced worked perfectly well.
-
What I have learned from this project is learning about the basic aspects of a vector.
-
This image here is also one of the designs that I did for the Forest of Signs Project.
-
The image is supposed to show a camera capturing some imagery.
-
I made a drawing of a camera and put it into Photoshop and edited it to make it look vector-like. Then I added a rectangle, moved the corners, scaled it, and put it on the camera lens to make it look like there's a light flashing out of the camera lens. Then I added some imagery in a little circle and put it on the rectangle to make it look like the camera light is focusing on some imagery. Then I added the sentence "Capturing Imagery" and put each word on two different sides of the rectangle.
-
This image works because the elements make this image so sketchy and cartoonish. What I have learned from this project is the same thing for the Capturing Light image: learning about the important aspects that go along with the purpose of a camera.
-
The picture above is a design that I created for the Fantasy Compositing Project during my junior year.
-
The major purpose of the project was to create my own fantasy landscape in Photoshop.
-
This picture shows a castle floating on a mountain in space.
-
I had to edit, colorize, and smooth out these elements to make them look real and visual at the same time.
-
The image works well because I made it so real and visual-like.
-
What I have learned from this project is learning how to think visually about the subject.
